Synopsis

After almost fifty years of marriage, the Countess Sofya (Helen Mirren), Leo Tolstoy's (Christopher Plummer) devoted wife, passionate lover, muse and secretary (she's copied out War and Peace six times…by hand!), suddenly finds her entire world turned upside down.
