Mandy

UN FILM DE Alexander Mckendrick

synopsis

A metal tray crashes to the floor but the child in the cot remains motionless. The young parents no longer have doubts: their daughter is deaf. They realize that because Mandy is deaf, she will be dumb. If she cannot hear, she will never learn to speak. The parents, Harry and Christine, quarrel bitterly over the child's education. Christine wants to send her to a school where deaf children are taught to lip-read and speak, but Harry refuses. So Mandy remains at home until, after one violent quarrel, Christine leaves, taking the child with her.
