synopsis

Edward Sutton and his family live in a regency square in Brighton. He is a chemist, also public analyst for the county of Sussex. He is the slave of duty and rules his family with a rod of iron. He refuses to let his daughter Victoria make singing her career. However, after a number of incidents Sutton realizes that the children should be ruled with love rather than fear.
