synopsis

Not a life story, but a unique study of the personality and techniques of the world's leading male ballet dancer, Rudolf Nureyev. A glimpse behind the curtains at the sheer physical hard work and training that produces his electrifying performances on the stage. Excerpts of several ballets are included, with Nureyev partnered by Carla Fracci, Lynn Seymour, Deanne Bergsma and, above all, Margot Fonteyn.
