Hawaii, Oslo

synopsis

Five stories about love are interweaved in Oslo, during the hottest day if the year. A man lies dying in the street, surrounded by people who, on the contrary are more alive than ever. For eleven years, Leon has been dreaming about turning 25. At the age of fourteen he and Aasa made a pact to meet again on this day to be together forever. Now he is frightened that she will not come, but maybe even more frightened that she actually will. The nurse Vidar tries to prevent his premonitions by keeping himself awake from his dreams. He is a night watch at the institution where Leon lives and has dreamt that Leon and Aasa will never meet. The people in Hawaii, Oslo cross each others paths and meet one another - like the streets in a city. Everyone is running from something, searching for something or dreaming of something else on this destined day. Everyone is looking for love and finding companionship.
