- Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian

synopsis

Edgar (Danny Huston) is married to beautiful pianist Abby (Elisabeth Röhm), but despite two children and a happy marriage, sexual jealousy overtakes him when Abby starts working with a handsome young violinist. Edgar's possessiveness begins to overwhelm him and his marriage, as a tragic ending slowly develops into a certainty. Danny and Anjelica Huston shine in this adaptation of the short story by Leo Tolstoy, set to the music of Beethoven.
