UN FILM DE Kathryn Bigelow

synopsis

A riveting tale of obsession and betrayal, The Weight of Water is inspired by the real-life events of an 1873 brutal double murder. Pulitzer-Prize winning poet, Thomas Janes sets sail with his wife, photojournalist Jean Nichols, on her weekend assignment to an East Coast island to photograph the site of the legendary murders. Joining them are Thomas's brother and his new girlfriend. Jean soon becomes absorbed by the sensational details of the case. While the events of the past are uncovered, the present finds Jean and her husband gripped by a crisis of their own - one that mirrors the emotional, uncontrolled passions from a century ago.
